Bushvalley Chickens is a poultry rearing operation focused on maintaining high standards in chicken health, production, and facility upkeep. We are looking for a reliable, technically skilled individual to join our team.
ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a Skilled Artisan responsible for the repair, maintenance, and overall functionality of our abattoir and related equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and facilities remain in good condition.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble equipment.
- Inspect fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions.
- Assembly and installation of equipment.
- Identify mechanical problems during operations and take corrective action.
- Refrigeration and ammonia plant maintenance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Millwright Red Seal or Certificate.
- Proven experience as an Artisan, preferably in a poultry processing or similar industrial environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
ADVANTAGEOUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Refrigeration or ammonia plant experience.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings when required.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Reliable, self motivated, and safety conscious.
- Sober habits.
